Education: BS, California Institute of Technology, 1989; MBA, Columbia University, 1997; PhD, University of California Berkeley, 1994. At SPU since 2025.

Dr. James Yeh brings to SPU a wealth of experience drawn from more than 20 years in the telecommunications, semiconductor, and biometric industries, where his work spanned research, product development, project management, technology marketing, and sales.

He holds seven U.S. patents and has demonstrated a remarkable ability to bridge innovation with practical application. In the academic arena, prior to joining ɬÀï·¬, he distinguished himself as chair and associate professor of engineering and computer science at Azusa Pacific University, where he established new concentrations and created interdisciplinary 4+1 BS+MS programs. Dr. Yeh went on to serve as the inaugural associate dean of the School of Engineering at Massachusetts Maritime Academy. As the senior leader within the organization, he played a pivotal role in shaping a new school and building consensus between faculty and administration during a period of significant transition.

Now, as the dean of SPU’s College of Business and Technology, Dr. Yeh leads our efforts to equip students with the values and skills necessary to thrive in a rapidly evolving professional landscape.
